Repeat Wear 4

Master the Art of the Repeat Wear

There used to be a time when you could repeat wear outfits at different occasions with different crowds without fear of having the offending repeat outfit identified as such. Enter the age of social media and we are now faced with a world where every outfit can end up on Instagram, seen by most people you know, thereby immediately outing itself and limiting its ability to dazzle and amaze a new crowd at some future event.

My philosophy as a personal stylist is that true style is not always about buying something new. Everyone has the building blocks of a stylish wardrobe already in their closets. Before we add to the excess waste created by our fashion habits, lets maximise what we already have before we identify the gaps that need to be filled with a strategically chosen piece here and there. But in order to do so, I had to stop thinking of it as something only worn by older women with big hair who troll singles bars hitting on much younger men (not that there’s anything wrong with that). There’s way to wear it and then there’s ways to wear it.

Here are ten ways to wear leopard, and make it more flash and less trash. Continue reading “Ten Ways to Wear Leopard Print”

Edgy Florals 6

Making Florals Edgy

It’s that time of year when it is with mixed emotions that I venture into the depths of my storage cupboard to rediscover and welcome back my winter staples, while I bid a sad farewell to my summer clothes and, with them, pack away my warm memories of the summer.

Before you embark on your own emotional journey of the seasonal wardrobe-switcheroo, pause for a second and have a think about whether you need to pack away your summer floral dress just yet. With a bit of carefully selected hardware (and software – keep reading), you can give your floral dress some street cred and a more urban aesthetic for autumn/winter in the city… Continue reading “Making Florals Edgy”
