What is Success for You?

At the time of writing this, series 1 of Freedom Hunters podcast is wrapping up. And I’ve been reflecting on the guests I’ve had the privilege of interviewing throughout the year. Freedom Hunters is a podcast in which I interview people who have changed careers in order to follow a dream. Each guest I’ve interviewed has had their own unique career path. Each of them has taken risks and made sacrifices in order to carve out and achieve their own definition of success.

In each episode of Freedom Hunters I asked each guest, “What is success for you?” I asked this question, because in my career as a lawyer I didn’t ask myself this question enough. And it was only when I answered it honestly did I realise that I needed to define a new ideal of success for myself. That was the start of my career change from lawyer to personal stylist and podcaster. And now that I’m finally in a career I love, success for me is to be able to continue do what I love every day. To be my own boss. And to be creative in what I do.

So here is what my series 1 Freedom Hunters shared with me when I asked them, “What is success for you?” Continue reading “What is Success for You?”

Freedom Hunters Episode 14: Georgia Gwynne Gruber

Freedom Hunters Georgia Gwynne Gruber

Georgia Gwynne Gruber is larger than life. From talking to her in the latest episode of Freedom Hunters, it’s clear that she has fit so many things into her career.

Georgia grew up in Wales and studied law at Oxford University. However shortly after graduating she was charged with a minor drug offence that resulted in her spending 6 months in prison. This then spurred her on to take her career and life in a wholly different direction. From producing and presenting travel programmes for television, to starting a rap group and touring the world she eventually landing in LA where she has written and produced TV, film and book projects, working with talent from Europe to America, from Zayn Malik to Larry King. After 10 years in the film and TV industry in LA, she has recently moved back to Wales with her husband. The two are currently filming in North Wales with big plans for establishing film and TV production infrastructure in that part of the country.

Georgia is also Global Change Ambassador for Round Table Global and a representative on the En Committee, serving the three global goals of Education for all; Empowering everyone; and Environmental rejuvenation.

What I took away from my chat with Georgia is the importance of gratitude, connection with others and always always write down your goals and dreams, because they probably will come true. Strap yourlseves for an adrenalin fuelled episode with Georgia Gwynne Gruber. Enjoy.
